Dixie Standards

About three years ago my family began searching for a new family dog.  Due to family allergies most breeds were immidiatley ruled out. My mother had always dreamed of owning a standard poodle for their beauty, intelligence, and urge to please their owner, so poodle seemed the obvious choice. After doing the research and contacting a local breeder we found Hank. He has proven to be everything we could have hoped for in a family pet. 

 

After moving out for school I found myself looking for my own companion and with my own allergies and loving Hank as much as I did I went on the search for my own Standard. I found it in Ellie. Though I did not have her as a puppy you wouldn't know it from our relationship. I can't convince her she is not a toy poodle as her favorite passtime is getting a rubdown in my lap or taking up most of the bed at night; and it's always great to come home to her wagging tail. 

 

While Hank is the playful roudy boy that the kids and I adore, and Ellie's dream afternoon is a nap, we love them both for their uniqueness and wouldn't trade them for anything.
